Aliki Rovithi-Get The Hang of It Paper Bag

At Design Interviews

Interview with Aliki Rovithi : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Aliki Rovithi : We have got the inspiration from the fact that there are not any hangers around when you need them! .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Aliki Rovithi : The project started in 2007 in Athens and finished in 2009 in Athens. It was exhibited in SaloneSatellite 2010 in Milan where it was received by the visitors with exclamations of surprise for its witty, clever and sustainable design. .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. Aliki Rovithi : We pursuited our inspiration. .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. Aliki Rovithi : We would love to see a leading retail company adopt our paper bag worldwide. .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. Aliki Rovithi : Retail stores that are interested in saving both money and resources in a cool and funky way. .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. Aliki Rovithi : The fully-functional clothes hangers that allow the consumer to hang his clothing up the minute he gets home. The “get the hang of it” bag is made of recycled/recyclable paper and cardboard. Rip the two cardboard hangers off the paper bag and your new clothes will find their place in your closet at once. Just “get the hang of it”…!! .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. Aliki Rovithi : The "get the hang of it" name is a pun on the english idiom and the actual use of the detachable hangers. .Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. Aliki Rovithi : The "get the hang of it" bag has two no ordinary handles. They are actually two detachable carboard hangers. The user can hang up his newly purchased clothes at once! This bag gives the opportunity to retail stores to "go green" and remain at the forefront of the fashion world. It also urges consumers that concern themselves with the state of the environment, to avoid the use of plastic bags and hangers. .
