Interview with Roberta Rampazzo : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Roberta Rampazzo : I always focus on innovation. In this specific table I have played with the legs to create a unique product with rather simple lines. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Roberta Rampazzo : The focus was to find the right proportions for the beauty and stability of the table. .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Roberta Rampazzo : In this case it is an ongoing process, as this table was released at Maison & Objet Paris last year (also other main furniture fairs), and this award will further enhance its visibility on the market. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Roberta Rampazzo : The concept took just few days, on the other hand some months were spent on product development. .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. Roberta Rampazzo : In this case it was pure inspiration. .Frank Scott: What made you design this particular type of work?. Roberta Rampazzo : A personal challenge to create a unique table with innovative shapes. .Frank Scott: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?. Roberta Rampazzo : No. .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. Roberta Rampazzo : People looking for a table that easily fits in any decor style with simple and good design. .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. Roberta Rampazzo : I am proud to say that the Illusion table is really unique. It is simple and elegant, and if you change the position of the legs it will be another table. There is no way to design a similar table. .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. Roberta Rampazzo : The name reflects the final design and its infinite angles that looks like a Illusion. .Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. Roberta Rampazzo : The Illusion is a ludic table. .Frank Scott: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?. Roberta Rampazzo : The challenge is to find the right material and thickness to give stability for the table. .Frank Scott: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?. Roberta Rampazzo : I believe this table is a strong piece of furniture. .Frank Scott: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?. Roberta Rampazzo : During the process I heard a few times that the table would not be stable, so I have learnt to follow my instincts, as well thinking outside the box to find solutions. .
