Interview with Raynon Chiu : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Raynon Chiu : Using the ancient principle of Chinese culture, the Tangquan Tea Club uses traditional Chinese materials and ancient architecture styles and techniques to create a space owning the Zen soul, which show the perfect integration of the nature and human. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Raynon Chiu : Rough green slate and natural wood floors make a direct relation with the exterior surroundings and create an environment of relaxation and simplicity. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Raynon Chiu : 20days .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. Raynon Chiu : It's ued by another company. .Frank Scott: What made you design this particular type of work?. Raynon Chiu : I think this design full of challenge, i like it . .Frank Scott: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?. Raynon Chiu : N/A .Frank Scott: Who is the target customer for his design?. Raynon Chiu : People who want to be relaxed. .Frank Scott: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?. Raynon Chiu : The tea Club was separated into hemi-transparent space by enormous wooden grids, which will takes a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. .Frank Scott: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?. Raynon Chiu : The name is adopted according to the client's need. .Frank Scott: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?. Raynon Chiu : Sketch, CAD .Frank Scott: What is the most unique aspect of your design?. Raynon Chiu : One of the tea rooms on the first floor orienting towards the east whose wall was casted with floor-to-ceiling wooden windows. The lake scenery outside becomes a part of the tea room. This beauty looks just as though a super large dimensional ink painting. You can enjoy the lake views out of the windows in the meantime appreciating tea. .Frank Scott: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?. Raynon Chiu : N/A .Frank Scott: What is the role of technology in this particular design?. Raynon Chiu : It mainly take advantage of the sense of space, and bring the beauty of nature into the interior design. .Frank Scott: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?. Raynon Chiu : N/A .Frank Scott: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?. Raynon Chiu : Yes, some problems faced with the geography conditions. .Frank Scott: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?. Raynon Chiu : N/A .
