Koepenick Waterfront
Koepenick Waterfront is a series of night photographs showing a city skyline across the water. The series differs from the widely known night views of large cities such as New York, Shanghai and Singapore. Koepenick Waterfront presents a smaller and less known city that still offers interesting views. The photographs record the colors of the night, which usually appear only in darkness and through long exposures. The images were not heavily processed. Only alignment, spot and noise removal and adjustment of black levels and saturation were applied.
Koepenick Waterfront Night Shots by André Roger Zwadlo was recognized as a grand example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Koepenick Waterfront Night Shots was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Photography and Photo Manipulation Design in 2021. The A' Photography and Photo Manipulation Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that honors superior design of portraits, landscapes, still lifes, photojournalism, fashion shots, architectural images, wildlife captures, sports events and more.
