Xiaoshanxiang Pig
Xiaoshanxiang Pig is a brand design created for the pork products of Xiaoyuan Village in China. The identity is based on simple countryside illustrations and on the local farming method, in which the pigs rest on straw beds. Light colors and playful drawings are used instead of the product photographs common in meat packaging. The set includes a packaging box, a waist cover made of 260 gram white cardboard with screen printing and silver stamping, a village map, coupons and posters. The aim is to raise the value of local agricultural products and to share the story of the village.
Xiaoshanxiang Pig Brand Design by Beijing Jiaotong University was selected as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Xiaoshanxiang Pig Brand Design won the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2024. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that recognizes excellent design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
