Vanke Skyline Bay
Vanke Skyline Bay is a wayfinding signage system made for a coastal development in Yantai, China. The forms follow lines drawn from the sea, recalling the coastline and the traces left on the beach as the tide rises and falls. Each sign measures 0.6 meters in width, 1.8 meters in height and 0.15 meters in thickness. The signs are produced by cutting and welding stainless steel, a material selected to resist the sea wind near the shore. The design connects guidance information with the surrounding landscape and architecture.
Vanke Skyline Bay Signage by YONGAN ZHOU has been highlighted as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Vanke Skyline Bay Signage was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2024. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that recognizes exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
