CDU Hamburg
CDU Hamburg is a brand identity developed for a regional political party in Hamburg, Germany. The identity is based on a modular structure that supports a uniform visual language across print and digital media. The word and figurative mark joins the letters CDU with the Hamburg symbol, a castle with three towers and two stars, on a dark blue circular carrier surface. The figurative mark is also used on its own, and the carrier surface can be filled with images and colors. Responsive websites were created for all organizational units.
CDU Hamburg Brand Identity by Harry Horstmann has been featured as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. CDU Hamburg Brand Identity was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2024. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that rewards excellent design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
